This west Houston house was furnished over a long residence, and the rooms mix antique case pieces with a working kitchen. The bedrooms include a McWhirr Co. mahogany set built for a full bed and additional full-size four-poster beds. Seating runs from an antique Victorian slipper rocker to a sofa with a matching chair, an afghan, a vintage curved-back loveseat, Victorian-style armchairs with an ottoman, and a sleeper sofa. Tables include a butler's-tray coffee table and a farm table with a tiled top.

Kitchen and dining goods include a red Le Creuset set, Pyrex, Pampered Chef, and new-in-box Oneida Easton five-piece place settings. There is a kitchen table with one leaf and four rolling chairs, plus crystal, glassware, pottery, and serving pieces. Appliances include a Frigidaire upright freezer and a small Sanyo refrigerator.

The rest of the house holds a vintage opera cape, a collection of carousel animal figurines, stained glass, area rugs, embroidered linens, quilts, a Basic Library of the World album set and other records, Tiffany-style lamps, and framed art that includes Gypsy Girl by Marcel Dyf. Also here: Christmas decor, a multi-gun display cabinet, a wooden dog crate, a Coast Guard ice bucket, purses, luggage, plastic trunks, mirrors, a wood tilt trash bin, a ladder, two bar stools, two captain's chairs, and yard tools.

Payment, bags, and the stairs

Venmo, Cash App, Apple Pay, and Zelle are accepted. Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover are available on purchases over $10. Sales tax and a 3 percent fee are added to every card transaction, whether the card is debit or credit. Everything else is cash only. Checks are not accepted.

Large bags, large purses, and strollers are not allowed inside. The house has stairs, and anyone who climbs them does so at their own risk.
