Museum District Estate Sale — Fine Furnishings and Collectibles Near 77006
+331
Margie Beegle Sales presents a two-day Museum District estate sale in Houston (77006), steps from Hermann Park and the Texas Medical Center. This is a large, category-rich liquidation — fine art, autographs, Henredon and Baker furniture, room-size rugs, formal china, and a full garage line — not a small tidy sale.
Art and paper collectibles include photographs by Paul Caponigro and Henri Cartier-Bresson (including a portrait of literary critic Edmund Wilson), a Ted Gall bronze-on-base sculpture, works by Barbara Atwood and Carol Grigg, a vintage Latin diploma, and framed letters and autographs tied to Robert Jones Jr., Dorothy Sayers, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, and related literary figures.
A substantial book collection covers political, thriller, history, art, fashion, Texas, Louisiana, and modern literature, with rare and hard-to-find titles. Furniture for readers includes a library book stand, a drop-front vintage desk, and a kidney desk.
Room-size rugs anchor multiple seating areas. Furniture highlights include a Henredon classic bedroom suite (four-poster bed, dresser with mirror, bedside table, armoire), a modern king master suite, a glass-top pedestal dining table with eight upholstered chairs, a large sectional, Baker's rack, oversized upholstered chairs with ottomans, rocking armchairs, and assorted side and coffee tables.
Tabletop goods include Limoges, Royal Doulton, blue-and-white china, Waterford, cut crystal, decanters by Baccarat and Steuben, and silverplate tea sets, cruet sets, and vases.
Electronics include a large-screen TV, stereo components, vintage TV/VCR combos, and a boom box. The kitchen holds pots, pans, small appliances, and everyday dishes. The garage adds French Provincial Henredon pieces, a petite writing desk, tools, Dyson vacuums, patio furniture, and garden equipment.
Women's clothing, bed linens, bathroom goods, office copiers, and holiday décor round out the house. Margie Beegle posts helpful hints on site for buying oversized items, discount timing, and when shopping must stop each day.
