They handle Estate Sales
Estate Sales. Traditional, in-home weekend salesNostalgiana is a woman-owned Texas estate sale and consignment company serving the greater Houston area and surrounding communities. The business is run by Chatina McCardell and offers two complementary paths for clients: a traditional in-home estate sale, or an offsite liquidation and consignment option through Nostalgiana's own consignment store in Houston. The company is set up to help clients through life transitions — a move, a downsize, a divorce, or the loss of a family member — with no upfront cost and a percentage-of-proceeds fee structure.
Nostalgiana describes its team as knowledgeable, honest, and compassionate, and its specialty mix is broad: antiques, collectibles, art, furniture, jewelry, and everyday items, with current working knowledge of secondary-market values for resellable goods. The hands-on, full-service approach is captured in a line they use themselves — they sell
For clients who can host the sale at their property, Nostalgiana handles the full setup: organizing, cleaning if needed, staging, and pricing every item before the doors open to the public. The team also offers in-town moving and complete clean-out services alongside the sale itself.
Once the client decides to hire Nostalgiana, the process is hands-off. The team sets the sale date, accesses the property the week prior to begin staging, brings the supplies, takes photos for advertising, and posts signage where HOA rules permit. Photos and advertising are distributed across multiple channels.
For clients who can't run a sale out of their home — whether because of HOA restrictions, tight deadlines, or because they only want to consign a few select items — Nostalgiana operates its own offsite consignment store. It's centrally located in Houston at BW & Westheimer Rd.
Once a sale ends, Nostalgiana offers several options for handling whatever items remain. The specific path is discussed during the initial consultation, since the right choice depends on the client's timeline and what's left.
Engagements start with a free consultation and walk-through, at no cost to the client. Fees are then taken as a percentage of the proceeds of the sale — there are no upfront charges. Nostalgiana typically needs access to the property the week before the sale to set up. Advertising includes on-site photos distributed across multiple channels, plus signage in any locations where the HOA permits it.
After the sale, accounting wraps up in roughly 72 hours. The client then receives a check for their share of the proceeds, along with a copy of every receipt written during the sale.
The company sees four common situations come up most often: a move, a downsize, a divorce, or the loss of a family member.
